Scoring a double century in a One Day International (ODI) match is considered one of the toughest challenges in cricket. Only a total of 12 players, including both male and female cricketers, have scored a double century (200 or more runs) in a One Day International (ODI) cricket match. 

Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar scored the first-ever double-century in men’s ODI cricket in February 2010 against South Africa. Overall, the first person to score a double century was Belinda Clark from Australia on December 16, 1997.

In 2014, Rohit Sharma scored a record-breaking 264 runs in an ODI against Sri Lanka, marking the highest ever in the format. Rohit Sharma has held another record by hitting 3 double centuries in ODIs, which is the most ever in cricket history.

Ishan Kishan holds the record for the fastest double century in ODIs, reaching it in just 131 balls against Bangladesh. In that game, he made an impressive 210 runs and hit the ball at an amazing speed, with a strike rate of 160.3.

Shubman Gill from India is the youngest player at 23 years and 132 days old to score a double century. Overall, at just 17 years old New Zealand’s Amelia Kerr became the youngest female player to score a double century in ODI cricket.
